Immunomedics, Inc., (Nasdaq: IMMU) – IMMU creates new Immunoconjugates

Immunomedics, Inc. is a unique biopharmaceutical company that is chiefly involved in creating therapeutic agents that primarily involve monoclonal antibody technology
IMMU has modified a known drug that destroys cancer cells (new SN-38 derivatives).  It has attached this molecule to an antibody it has designed to find and attach to pancreatic, lung and colon cancer cells (Immunoconjugate).  The drug/antibody combination targeted towards colon cancer cells  (labetuzumab-SN-38 conjugate) has shown promise in animal models.
Infact, IMMU has six drug/antibody combinations in the works, they are:

Epratuzumab and 90Y-epratuzumab in non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia

Veltuzumab in NHL.

90Y-PAM4 in pancreatic cancer.

Milatuzumab in NHL, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and multiple myeloma.

131I-labetuzumab as an adjuvant therapy in metastatic colorectal cancer.

These potential agents may make this company more profitable in the future.

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated (Nasdaq: VRTX)-Telaprevir; New Hepatitis C Drug, Phase III Clinical Trial Initiated.

Chart for Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc. (VRTX)

Vertex Pharmaceuticals and Tibotec revealed that they will  initiate “ADVANCE”, a Phase 3 Clinical Study with Telaprevir in the Treatment-Naive, Genotype 1 Hepatitis C Patients.

This drug is unique because it is the first of a class of anti-viral drugs known as protease inhibitors (also used in HIV) to reach phase 3 clinical trials.

If the results of this phase 3 trial are good then this company may very well increase its profitability and may lead to price movement.
